Should you use a three phase or signal phase power?

I have to say three phase is your best choice if you have. But our pumps usally used for domatic porpose, like in your house or in your shop, so it is hardly to have a three phase power. in that case, you have to use single phase.

But why Three phase is better than signal phase power?
